Not getting a forward is going to haunt us, especially this weekend, Antonio is fragile

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Sheff U - Official Match Thread FT 3-0
Won 3-0 without even playing well. Unlike the usual West Ham, where the opposite would have happened.

Moyes tactic last night was to wait for a break and hit them on the counter attack. It worked and got us several first half opportunities. Maybe he saw Lingard playing a role in counter attacking, it reminds me that Moyes got Mario in the January window last time with some similarities.

Although it's exciting seeing flowing forward moves, they're few and far between in matches. The majority of the game last night was a grind, and as usual, they had more of the ball than us, and Fabianski had a good game which sealed it.

The result looks good but we all know what's likely to happen in the next few games.

Because he didn’t play last night?

How come no one is talking about Fornals of late?? So integral to us too.

Agood result against a poor team, how many of their players would get in our team, none,i still think lack of forwards will cost us at the end.

Smashed them?

Crikey, your version of the word smashed is a little distorted, no wonder considering you let every tom dick and harry smash your mrs.

I politely point you back to my first point, in which I said if we got an early goal it would be comfortable, which is more or less what happened.

We smashed Sheffield Utd just like I said we would and boltkunt (and goosestep) were made to look utterly foolish.

You love to see it.

Had to smile when one of the commentators pointed out the blades had three strikers on the bench, plus of course two playing. Goes to show there are plenty of crap strikers around so caution not a bad thing for Moyes. Having said that we should still have brought a loan striker in.

If you had said after the Newcastle game by mid feb we'd be 2 points clear of Liverpool you would have probably been sectioned

It would be fun to dig out the match day thread for that Newcastle game. I can imagine there were some right Moyes out wankers posting on it!

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Sheff U - Official Match Thread
Maybe not for the sake of it, but will probably be thinking it's a bonus if he plays well to potentially attract suitors.

Yep, good to see fringe players like Diop and Fredericks do well. That's what you need.

As others have mentioned the chances given to McGoldrick were a bit worrying. Need to tighten up there as a better player would have punished us for complacency.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Sheff U - Official Match Thread
Once we scored I don't think there was any doubt that we'd take all 3 points
There were some very good individual performances (Lingard motm) but in truth, we played well within ourselves and always looked like we were capable of moving up a gear if necessary (which it wasn't)
Overall, a decent professional performance all round but we could do much better

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Sheff U - Official Match Thread FT 3-0
I dont think Lanzini is being played for the sake of it.
We are playing twice a week so he has to juggle Lanzini, Bowen, Benrhama & Fornals to try & keep them relatively fresh.
Definitely would say that Lanzini & Yarmolenko (& Anderson) arent part of the future so will be out in the summer if Moyes has his way.

Hopefully last night is the start of Diop coming back as a useful part of the squad. Has been missing in action for too long

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Sheff U - Official Match Thread
I've never really believed a manager would start a player just to 'shop window' him, but I wonder if Moyes is going to do this with Lanzini? You just know he badly wants him and the pointless Ukrainian out the door in the summer.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Sheff U - Official Match Thread
The only downside from that performance is the fact that Lanzini looks finished. Hopefully there will be some interest from China/Arabs to get a fee.
